Mike Rader is a mixed-media artist working across animation, painting, sculpture, drawing, and printmaking, often integrating these elements into film. His work reaches into the hardwiring of the past to create an active dialogue with the present, frequently using cultural artifacts and icons — such as Charlie Chaplin, Ultraman, and Mr Potato Head—as catalysts for exploration.

Rader’s work has received numerous awards, including the Vanguard Award for Best Experimental Film (Art of Brooklyn Film Festival), Best Art Direction (Manhattan Film Festival), and a Merit Award (Lucerne Film Festival). His work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Andy Warhol Museum, and the Toledo Museum of Art, and he has had multiple solo exhibitions in New York City in addition to participating in numerous group shows. He is a recent recipient of a Robert Rauschenberg grant and currently teaches at NYU, Parsons, and Yale University. Rader lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
